I WANT.

“Three rings for the Elven kings under the sky, seven for the Dwarf lords in their halls of stone, nine for the mortal men doomed to die, one for the Dark Lord on his dark throne, in the land of Mordor where the shadows lie. One ring to rule them all, one ring to find them, one ring the bring them all, and in the darkness bind them. In the land of Mordor where the shadows lie.”
- The Lord of the Rings

"I must not fear. / Fear is the mind-killer. / Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. / I will face my fear. / I will permit it to pass over me and through me. / And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. / Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. / Only I will remain.”
- Bene Gesserit Litany Against Fear, Dune

“Try not. Do, or do not. There is no try.”
- Yoda, The Empire Strikes Back

“If we knew what it was we were doing, it would not be called research, would it?”
- Albert Einstein

Postmodern ironists cloaked behind a veil of buoyantly melodic and lushly romantic synth pop confections, Pet Shop Boys' cheeky, smart, and utterly danceable music established them among the most commercially and critically successful groups of their era. Always remaining one step ahead of their contemporaries, the British duo navigated the constantly shifting landscape of modern dance-pop with rare grace and intelligence, moving easily from disco to house to techno with their own distinctive image remaining completely intact. Satiric and irreverent -- yet somehow strangely affecting -- Pet Shop Boys transcended the seeming disposability of their craft, offering wry and thoughtful cultural commentary communicated by the Morse code of au courant synth washes and drum-machine rhythms.

I don't really agree with the "ironists" part, I actually find them both very smart and romantic. Totally agree with the "affecting" part. If you pay attention to the lyrics and the emotions behind them you may find yourself on the verge of tears, yet dancing along to the song. "Being boring" and "Jealousy" actually do that to me.

Love etc.

MAGIC. I can't describe Neil Tennant's voice any other way.
(I know, crappy video, but I couldn't shoot one myself from where I was so had to pick up one from YouTube)
